Secret Society’s highly anticipated third album, Real Enemies, will be out September 30 on New Amsterdam Records and is now available for pre-order via Bandcamp. The first single, “Best Friends Forever” (featuring Rob Wilkerson on alto saxophone) is streaming now.We are celebrating the album’s official release with performances at National Sawdust on Sunday, October 2 and the MFA Boston on Friday, October 7.Real Enemies is an 80-minute, 13-chapter exploration of America’s fascination with conspiracy theories. As befitting a journey into postwar paranoia, the music draws heavily on 12-tone techniques, but the wide-ranging score exhibits a gleeful disregard for how those techniques have traditionally been deployed. My co-conspirators and I cannot wait for you to hear it.
